Where wellness came alive
April 2026
On 4 April 2026, Livewell Festival opened at the University of Ghana Poolside. The day began with a health walk before 7am. Screening ran through the day. There were yoga and fitness sessions, talks, food, and the simple fact of people spending a Saturday on their health together.
Dr Kenneth Gyamfi, Livewell's founder and a family medicine consultant, has described the Festival as a platform that holds every aspect of wellness in one space — with practical tools people can take into ordinary life. In his words from the day: wellness should be an everyday thing.
The Festival is free, open, and designed for families as much as for the already-converted. That is a point of principle. Prevention that only reaches people who can already afford a wellness lifestyle is not prevention at scale.
Future editions will be announced with dates, partners and programmes as they are confirmed. Until then, the invitation stands: come as you are, bring who you love, leave with something you can use on a Monday.
